The Garden of Joy, dedicated in loving memory of Jimmy Polatty, offers a beautiful outdoor space in the heart of downtown Sebring.
Jimmy Polatty
July 13, 1990-December 31, 2013
Jimmy Polatty moved to Sebring with his parents and brother in 1993 at the age of three, and quickly became very active in the community, school and church. A popular athlete, Jimmy played tennis, soccer and football; and lettered in cross country, wrestling and swimming in high school. As a teenager, Jimmy became an Eagle Scout and received the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Award. He graduated from Sebring High School with honors (summa cum laude) in 2009, started college, and joined Phi Kappa Tau.
On December 31, 2013, Jimmy suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 23. He received a biology degree posthumously from the University of Florida. Jimmy’s family and friends would like to honor his memory by dedicating this garden in his memory, with the hope that the Garden of Joy will be a blessing to the community for years to come.
The Garden of Joy was officially dedicated in loving memory of Jimmy Polatty on December 5th, 2015
