Until the day Lindsey entered her heavenly home on December 10, 2012, her burning desire, her WISH, was to help children with cancer. Can you help? One person can make a difference; Lindsey certainly did!
Lindsey Hammortree was first diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer in May 2010. After a two-year brave and gallant fight, this precious and cherished 18-year old finally succumbed to this insidious disease. With love, devotion and passion, Lindsey’s family and friends quickly established Lindsey’s Wish, Inc., a not-for-profit initiative fully dedicated to assisting children in our community who are fighting cancer.
On July 23, 2015, what would have been Lindsey’s 21st birthday, Lindsey’s Wish joined the Champion for Children Foundation. As a community initiative of the Foundation, Lindsey’s Wish helps children who are battling cancer by extending hope to families wishing for a better tomorrow. Financial assistance is available to help with food, travel, utility, and other non-medical related expenses.
While Lindsey’s faithful and vibrant life was cut short, her beautiful legacy lives on through the lives of children helped by this fund.
If you know of a child in Highlands County who has been diagnosed with cancer, please let their family know about the financial assistance available through Lindsey’s Wish.
